What lives on the scalp
The scalp microbiome is the community of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms living on the skin of the head. The two most studied residents are Cutibacterium acnes (related to facial acne but doing different work here) and Malassezia, a yeast that lives on most human scalps.
